The #BeActive awards celebrate projects and individuals who have gone the extra mile to support the European Week of Sport’s mission to encourage everyone to get fit and #BeActive!

It also contributes to the HealthyLifeStyle4All initiative and to the promotion of sustainable and green sports.

Nomination Catagories for #BeActive

Nominations can be done in the following categories:

• #BeActive Education Award
• #BeActive Workplace Award
• #BeActive Local Hero Award (a natural person aged over 18)
• #BeActive – Across Generations Award.

Prizes

• In total, EUR 60,000.
• The winner of each category will receive a prize of EUR 10.,000
• In addition, two finalists (2^nd and 3^rd place) will receive a prize of EUR 2,500 each.
• The winners will be announced and showcased at the award ceremony where they will receive their prizes.

Depending on the prize, projects can focus on educational establishments and workplaces, as well as individuals in local communities. They can also support and promote ties across generations through the practice of sport and physical activity. Besides rewarding specific organizations, the award of prizes will also give visibility and support the dissemination of innovative ideas, initiatives, and best practices throughout Europe.

Eligibility

• For the purpose of the #BeActive Local Hero Award, only natural persons aged over 18
• legal entities (individuals, public or private bodies, including international organizations)
• be established in one of the eligible countries:
  • EU Member State (including overseas countries and territories (OCTs)
  • non-EU countries: – listed EEA countries and countries associated with the Erasmus+ Programme (associated countries) or countries that are in ongoing negotiations for an association agreement and where the agreement enters into force before grant signature.
• Moreover, all applicants must register in the Participant Register — before the call deadline

Evaluation and Award Procedure

1. A pre-selection will take place in order to select the best 6 projects per category.
2. Applications will then be subject to an evaluation by a Jury.
3. The pre-selection panel/jury will evaluate each application against the award criteria.
4. On the basis of the evaluation by the jury, the awarding authority will decide on the award of the prize.
5. A winner and two finalists (ranked 2nd and 3rd) will be awarded a BeActive Award under each category.
6. All applications will be informed about the evaluation result (evaluation result letter).

Call opening: 15 March 2022

Deadline for submission: 19 May 2022

Evaluation: June 2022 – September 2022
