The International Labour Organization invites application for Communication Support Internship in Beijing, China. Moreover, the ILO Internship Program provides an opportunity for talented individuals to increase understanding of relevant issues at the international level by involving them directly in the work of the Office and the application of ILO principles, programs, and strategies. As well as the interns will gain practical experience with the ILO directly related to their field of study.

What will the Communication Support Intern do at ILO?

The intern will be based in Beijing and work closely with the SCORE Project team to improve project communication and support programming activities. The Intern will carry out the following tasks:

• Contribute to SCORE communication and advocacy, support with the visibility and exposure of SCORE in public.
• Maintain and update program social media account on a regular basis;
• Produce social media-friendly material based on case stories, events, reports, etc.
• Perform in-depth research, gather facts and interview the ILO and tripartite constituents on specific subjects to support the production of SCORE program information that is relevant, accurate and engaging.
• Collect, compile and write up program event information, and web publishing; the writing will be in journalistic styles that are interesting, accessible and readable to the target audiences.
• Programming support, participate SCORE activities, assist with informal translation and interpretation and preparation of program background material for briefing or sharing session of SCORE workshops.
• Perform any required duty assigned by the ILO CO-BEIJING.

What qualifications are necessary for the Communication Support Internship?

Candidates must be enrolled in the final year of a graduate degree program, or be enrolled in a higher degree program, in journalism, public communications or creative writing, or any program with similar relevance. Alternatively, she or he should have completed such a program in the preceding 12 months.

• Working experience related to communications is preferable.
• Excellent knowledge of English and Chinese
• Specific skills in dealing with multimedia and social media
• Specific skills related to the development of visual material (i.e. videos and photos), graphics and infographics, and related software
• Ability to write up event announcement, project news and activity information in English.
• Further, the ability to draft Briefing papers, meeting notes and documents in English
• Good computer skills, including excellent knowledge of Microsoft applications
• Likewise, the ability to carry out assignments in accordance with instructions and guidelines
• Also, the ability to integrate and work in multicultural teams and a multicultural environment
