In this role, the successful candidate The student intern is responsible for collecting and entering data in databases and maintaining accurate records from source documents for research participants in the Alzheimers Disease Center. Our ideal candidate will have essential data entry skills, like fast typing with an eye for detail and familiarity with spreadsheets and online forms. The job will also entail compiling, verifying accuracy and sorting information to prepare source data for computer entry. Additionally, the student intern will also help in maintaining the NYU ADC biorepository.

What will the Student Research Intern do at NYU School of Medicine?

  • Insert research data by inputting text-based as well as numerical information from source documents.
  • Compile, verify accuracy and sort information according to priorities to prepare source data for computer entry.
  • Review data for deficiencies or errors, correct any incompatibilities if possible and check the output.
  • Likewise, research and obtain further information for incomplete documents.
  • Apply data program techniques and procedures.
  • Further, generate reports, store completed work in designated locations and perform backup operations.
  • Scan documents as well as print files, when needed.
  • Respond to queries for information and access relevant files.
  • Comply with data integrity and security policies to ensure information confidentiality.
  • Supports the daily operations associated with the ADC BioRepository in the BioSpecimen Management function. It includes the management of inventory, processing, distribution, storage, and disposition of biological materials.
  • Also, perform other duties as assigned

What do you nee for Student Research Intern?

To qualify you must be a full-time student, or, if working in the Summer months (i.e. mid-May to mid-September), must be planning to return to full-time status in September. During the summer months, the position may be classified as casual. Functions performed must be NBU (non-bargaining unit) work.
