Friedrich Ebert International Scholarships provides an opportunity to particularly gifted students from Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Eastern Europe. Students in any subject area are eligible to apply if they demonstrate excellent school or academic merit. Further, the scholarships are awarded to highly-performing students and include a comprehensive seminar program to help enhance the candidates’ social competencies and academic skills.
Moreover, Individual support by an on-site liaison lecturer is another benefit of the sponsorship. The candidates’ aptitudes and personalities should show excellent promise for an academic or professional career. Further, candidates should show commitment to the values of social democracy.
International students receive a monthly base amount of EUR 750 in a Bachelor’s, Diplom, Magister or state examination program or EUR 850 in a Master’s course. In addition, costs for health insurance are funded and scholars with a child receive a family allowance of EUR 276. The scholarship does not have to be repaid.

Friedrich Ebert International Scholarships are among DAAD Scholarships scheme. To apply for the scholarships, one must follow similar application guidelines as DAAD Scholarships. Further, only eligible candidates may apply for the scholarships.

International students may apply for the Friedrich Ebert Scholarships until the deadline set as 31 October 2019. Past the deadline, the Friedrich Ebert Foundation will not receive any scholarship application.
